Last November, I had the pleasure of second shooting Sophia and Ben's stylish, minimalistic wedding alongside the amazingly talented Colorado based photographer Tippy Jordan who travelled out to Minnesota to capture their b ig day. Tippy is truly one of the best weddings photographers in Colorado, Minneapolis and and the midwest, so I was beyond excited when she reached out to me to work with her.
Sophia and Ben's traditional wedding ceremony took place in one of the most beautiful historic churches in Minneapolis, The Holy Family Catholic Church, and they followed up their ceremony with a modern intimate reception.. It was the perfect way to celebrate wedding tradition whilst paying homage to their refined, contemporary sense of style and their sleek and minimal creative vision was aligned with my aesthetic to a tee.
I'm not exaggerating whern I say I loved everything about Sophia and Ben's wedding - Every detail felt like it had been pulled from a Pinterest board or inspired by the pages of a vintage Vogue editorial, but in a way that never once overshadowed the beautiful Church setting – the classic, snow white florals perfectly complimented the neutral tones of The Holy Family Catholic Church's wood and stone architecture, and proved that sometimes less is more and that ‘luxurious’ doesn’t have to mean over the top.
Wedding trend forecasts for 2023 suggest that minimalism is set to become a HUGE trend for 2023 weddings, and I loved all the ways that Sophie and Ben played with this in their wedding planning - from design ideas like choosing a bundt cake rather than a traditional tiered wedding cake, to Sophie's glamorously understated Prisma silk slip gown by Alexandra Grecco, all of the details had a personal twist which made for the most timeless, unforgettable winter wedding,
Sophia and Ben are the definition of my dream clients, and they were the most beautiful couple inside and out (I could NOT stop photographing, and you'll understand when you see their couples portraits why I was so inspired!) and overall, It was one of my favorite weddings of all time.
